Kapoor also does a tad better than her earlier outings, but is patchy. Roy Kapoor shows he has mettle: I was wondering about that after his turns in Action Replayy and Guzaarish, bad films both, but his potential is clear in this one.

And the best part of this film is these two trying out each other for size, despite an embarrassing meet-cute.

Mohit Suri knows how to get lovers to start off the blocks. And then comes the Abhimaan-like arc, as the two deal with obscurity, fame and heartbreak, and it all becomes mothballed. But he is not so soused that he can't spot talent: he hears Aarohi sing in a shady Goa bar, and knows she is the next best thing. For reasons that are never explained, Rahul's constant companion is alcohol. Aarohi Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor) is a girl who worships Lata Mangeshkar and wants to be a singer. Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapur) is a singer fighting his demons, with the help of good pal (Shaad Randhawa). And this, along with a story that starts with some lift and then dips makes the new film a messy meander. No single song of the new Aashiqui leaps out at you. But this time around, it is not as distinctive, and that's because the Bhatts may have become victims of their own created template of sufi-soft-pop-cum-rock.

Aashiqui number 2 has similarities with the first: the Bhatts are co-producers along with Bhushan Kumar (son of the slain T series magnate Gulshan, who was responsible for the phenomenal success of the original's music, still bouncing about in playlists). So did that instantly-recognisable image of young-lovers-under-jacket. Aashiqui's soundtrack became all the rage. The songs came first, the movie came after. And a pair of new faces, artfully hidden under a jacket, for the purposes of a poster. Indian Express Rating: ** More than 20 years ago, the Bhatts crafted a blockbuster out of a string of songs sung by fresh voices. But the music is very much worth listening to.Cast: Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor, Shaad Randhawa Skip it if you feel like it.You're not missing out on too much. If you're looking to pass time with your loved one and curling up to watch this movie or feel like falling in love all over again, watch it.But I wouldn't say it's a must-see. In conclusion, the high verdict is mostly based on the timeless soundtrack and the innocent romance of two young lovers that are deeply in love. You just know what was going to happen next. Very Bollywood. With a few twists and turns. In addition to the disadvantages, the movie was set up in a chronological order: Boy meets girl, they fall in love, there are obstacles where they can't meet each other and they finally live happily ever after. They deserve bonus points on their supporting roles. I could only compliment on Dipak Tijori and Reema Lagoo for their acting skills. A disappointment on both Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. It's very upsetting to see two reasonable looking actors, that fit the image of the decent characters very well, but yet their acting was below average. It was very tasteless and there was no "oomph" in their moves.

On the other hand, the acting is very "bland".I also have no words to describing the characters' enthusiasm to their skills in dancing. 1.5 stars to Aashiqui 2 and extra 1 for Aditya Roy Kapur's acting and movie's music. It ranked fourth place on Planet Bollywood's Top 100 list for a reason: It's worth listening to. It had garnered bonus points, because of the soundtrack. The soundtrack is what made this movie famous and a success. Even to this date, there is no other music that is elegant and timeless such as the music featured in this movie. The music definitely makes up the flaws of this movie. You can't find a good quality, innocent romantic movies in this generation without sex. This movie captures the romance of two innocent, young lovers.Which is why I gave additional bonus points for this classic movie. While watching this movie since 1990 and up till today, Bollywood movies today are incomparable to Aashiqui. I give it 6 out of 10, because the movie portrays two young, innocent characters, capturing their romance, strengths and weaknesses in their budding relationship.
